Recently, the exceptional middle school Mahopac News Show team led by education technology specialist Jay Zides broke the news that school security cameras have picked up what appears to be “some sort of new mascot-like creature” roaming around the halls. School staff members were interviewed and those who had caught a glimpse of the elusive, wolflike creature reported that he had exhibited some bad behaviors while in school.

Most schools have a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework in place, and Assistant Principal Regina Cucinotta shared that the school is in the process of enhancing its PBIS system and as part of that will be introducing a new mascot at a future school pep rally.
“Our PBIS framework was developed to teach students about good citizenship and respectful behavior,” Cucinotta said. “The students were intrigued by the news report and are very excited to learn who our new mascot is. We can’t wait for our kids to welcome the mascot into our ‘Pac’ and help us teach the new mascot which behaviors are appropriate for a school environment.”
