In a heartwarming celebration of reading, Lakeview Elementary School kindergartners marched around their school with their favorite books in hand during the annual We Are Readers parade. As upbeat music played over the school speakers, older students lined the hallways to cheer on the young readers and offer encouraging words as the little ones proudly showed off their cherished stories.
“We always host a celebration at the end of each reading unit,” Lakeview kindergarten teacher Deanne DelCampo said. “The kindergarten team decided to add a parade around the school to make it even more special for the students. It was a day filled with joy, pride and inspiration for readers of all ages!”
Lakeview Assistant Principal Leigh Galione expressed that the parade has become a meaningful tradition at the elementary school.
“It was so wonderful to see our older students cheering on the kindergartners,” Galione said. “This show of support across grade levels not only nurtures a love of reading but also helps to spark a lifelong passion for books. Events like this create a community where reading is celebrated at every age, reminding everyone that literacy is a lifelong adventure.”
