Elementary school students across the district marked an exciting milestone in their educational journey – the 100th day of school. They engaged in fun and educational activities – from dressing up as 100-year-olds to counting in innovative ways – to highlight their accomplishments.
At Austin Road, first graders counted out 100 colorful beads to make unique necklaces and created artwork, imagining what they might look like when they turn 100 years old. On the big day, many students wore creative hats or shirts adorned with 100 objects, showcasing their individuality and enthusiasm for the occasion.
Kindergarten students at Fulmar Road practiced counting in tens as they worked together to create a delicious trail mix, using 10 different snack items to help them reach 100. In addition, students throughout the school collected more than 100 “Cans of Kindness” for a local food drive. The excitement continued when 100 headshot photos of Principal Gary Chadwick were hidden around the school for students to find and return to the main lobby.
At Lakeview, kindergartners had a blast visiting various activity centers. They stacked 100 cups, engineered structures out of marshmallows and toothpicks, performed 100 exercises, and counted and sorted 100 Froot Loops to make colorful necklaces.
