Qualifying competitors from Mahopac’s Austin Road, Fulmar Road and Lakeview elementary schools competed in the annual Mahopac Elementary School 5K race at Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park in Yorktown Heights, New York, on Oct. 23.
The top three boys finishers were Austin Road Elementary School students Cruz Zeiler (first place), Raymond Kolkmann (second place) and James Viggiano (third place). The top three girls finishers were Addison McDonnell (first place) from Fulmar Road Elementary School, and Mia Penta (second place) and Abigail Long (third place) from Lakeview Elementary School.
“Congratulations to all of our elementary school 5K competitors for their hard work and the tremendous effort they put into their training leading up to this event,” Mahopac Director of Athletics, Physical Education and Health Stephen Luciana said. “A big thank you to our amazing elementary PE staff for an excellent job making this a great experience for our students.”
