Lakeview's newest teachers

It's that time again when the Mahopac community has the opportunity to meet some of Mahopac's newest teachers. Four new teachers have joined the Lakeview Elementary family this year and each of them is hard at work providing the best possible education to Mahopac's students.

"Coming in every day, working with students, and seeing them make progress in learning the language is incredible. They've made so much progress even just from September to now. They can see the progress they're making too and we celebrate that together. Learning English is so critical for students to be able to interact with society since the language is everywhere and they always come in excited to learn."

-Danielle Roviezzo, ENL Teacher

"I'm really excited to be here teaching kindergarten in Mahopac. Students this young need really detailed explanations of things that adults might take for granted. I've been especially impressed with how well my students have adapted to technology like using our Chromebooks. While navigating a computer might seem really simple to an adult, these students still need to learn everything from moving the cursor around, to logging in, to what the different icons mean."

-Shannon Dolan, Kindergarten Teacher

"Mahopac is my hometown and my kids go to school here so I couldn't be more excited to be here and give back to my community. I love special education, I get to build relationships with students and families over multiple years and I like the puzzle of trying to figure out how to support each child and to help them discover what their needs are. My goal is to get my students to a place where they can advocate for themselves and understand and communicate what they need."

-Stephanie Gaur, Special Education Teacher

"Sports can be such a healthy part of students' lives, so helping them learn and explore, especially when they're elementary school age, can have a positive impact on the rest of their lives. Providing students with the chance to try out all kinds of sports and seeing students surprise themselves with what they are capable of is incredible. I want them to take what they learn here and use it to stay active for the rest of their lives."
