Mahopac Middle School hosted its annual “I Love Health” fair to encourage healthy living among students. The event featured interactive exhibits and displays from school and community organizations that shared valuable health information and resources.
Representatives from Mahopac High School’s Model UN Club, Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department, Putnam County Department of Health, Putnam County Youth Bureau, Mental Health Association, PNW Women’s Resource Center, Cove Care Center, Apple Bank, MCSD Technology Specialist, and the MMS health and physical education departments engaged with students and provided insights into wellness, safety and mental health.
Valarie Nierman, Mahopac’s K-12 health coordinator, emphasized the importance of connecting students to health resources within their school and local community.
“This event brings our health education program to life by offering real-world, interactive learning opportunities,” Nierman said. “We are incredibly grateful for the support from our district and the organizations that made this event such a success.”
The fair provided an exciting opportunity for students to learn about healthy lifestyles while also fostering a sense of community involvement.
