MMS students recently enjoyed a visit from author of books such as "Last Summer in Outer Space", Joshua S. Levy. The prolific author told students about how he wrote his first unpublished book when he was in sixth grade, and that it's never too early or too late to start writing.

The Mahopac Central School District is happy to announce that Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) will be offered for the 2024-2025 school year. UPK will provide free full-day pre-kindergarten to 148 children selected through a lottery. Eligible children are those who will be eligible for kindergarten in the 2025-2026 school year. We are able to provide this free UPK program through State Aid that can only be used for this purpose which results in no cost to taxpayers. While additional information will be provided next week, here is the timeline for next steps in the creation of the UPK program: - March 19, 2024: MCSD Board Meeting to approve UPK providers. - March 20, 2024: Information will be shared with a link to apply for the Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) Lottery Entry Form. This link will also be on the District website. - April 5, 2024: Deadline for completing the Lottery Entry Form. - April 8, 2024: At 9 a.m. a drawing will be conducted at Mahopac Falls School in the auditorium and will be live-streamed on the District website. Parents are welcome to attend the drawing on this date. All applicants will be notified of whether their child is selected through the lottery or placed on a waitlist.
