One School One Book has begun at Fulmar Road Elementary. Principal Gary Chadwick went from class to class on Friday delivering the book that the whole school will be reading together, "Life According to Og the Frog" while dressed as the book's main character, Og!

This week is School Social Workers Week and the Mahopac Central School District is deeply grateful for the invaluable contributions of its School Social Workers. They are critical figures in the lives of our students and serve the community every day. Thank you to Kristel Halton, Davia Bugge, Jennifer Stytzer, Suzanne Mayer, Kellie Rivera, Valerie Trefny, and Jill Iglesias for all of the critical work that you do!

Mahopac Middle School's eighth grade class had a unique opportunity to hear from some special guest speakers today at the Career Spotlight Guest Speaker Event. Students heard from Mahopac residents who work in sports medicine, counseling, audio and video, and more.

Austin Road's Kindergarten class got together with Vice Principal Michelle Tween and Principal Bryan Gilligan this morning for a townhall that was all about trying new things by asking a simple question, "What if?"

Today is National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day and the Mahopac CSD recognizes its School Resource Officers and School Special Patrol Officers along with our security staff from Briger Security. They are superb role models and keep students and staff safe every day.

February's Regular Board of Education Meeting and Public Hearing on Tax Exemptions has been rescheduled from February 13th, 2024 to February 15th, 2024.

Mahopac High School's Interact Club, in collaboration with with the Lake Mahopac Rotary Club, concluded their winter coat drive after months of work. The Mahopac community came together to contribute over 500 winter coats to those who need them. Thank you to everyone who donated!

Congratulations to Lakeview student Alicja Caffery for being recognized by Storyworks Magazine as one of only five nationwide winners of the Frozen Earth Essay Contest. Caffery was surprised with a special assembly where she was honored by her peers, Lakeview staff, and parents.

This week, Mahopac recognizes the unique contribution of school counselors to students' education and development. Mahopac's Counseling Department is a constant, reliable, and positive presence in our students' lives throughout their years at Mahopac Schools.

Congratulations to Mahopac High School's WISE Program participants. These intrepid seniors have worked hard in the first half of the year so that they can take their educations into their own hands and beyond the classroom at internships in the second semester.

Due to the forecast for ice this afternoon, there will be an early dismissal today, January 23rd. There will be no after-school activities. Dismissal will be at the following times: High School- 10:50 a.m. The High School will send a separate communication regarding the revised Regents exam schedule. Middle School- 11:00 a.m. Lakeview- 11:00 a.m. Austin Rd.- 11:45 a.m. Fulmar Rd.- 11:45 a.m. Tomorrow’s elementary half-day will now be a full day.

Mahopac Middle School's future scientists, engineers, and artists have been hard at work on their projects for the 2024 MMS STEAM Fair. Students presented their projects today to the next generation of STEAM Fair presenters, the 5th grade students from Mahopac elementary schools.

Due to the inclement weather, Mahopac Central School District will operate on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, January 17, 2024.
